Timothy Crane
Composer, Producer, Musician
People who love music know how it can transform their lives. Those people can often point to one particular moment when music seemed to transcend the natural world, to touch them on some deeply emotional level, and to lift them beyond any sense of an ordinary existence. My intitial transforming moment came at the age of five, when my parents bought me the Mary Poppins soundtrack and I learned my first piano piece by numbering my fingers. Since then, my musical journey has been filled with hundreds more moments, through listening and playing, writing and recording.
Starting in about 2005, I began offering my music to others, hoping to transform them. Each of my four previous albums, The Other Life I Dream, Dragonfly, Pianoforte, and The Fall of a Sparrow ranked in the top five albums on the Zone Music Reporter, garnering praise for what I believe is a unique combination orchestral arrangements and somewhat technical (well, at least I think so) piano work. My style of music, "instrumental pop," blends influences from new age, popular, rock, and even classical music into compositions that I think are both interesting and uniquely enjoyable. My new CD -- Halo -- is now available. I hope you'll like it!
